Father Damien Statue

Father Damien (now Saint Damien) came to Hawai`i as a missionary. Eventually he focused on, then devoted much of his life to caring for those suffering from Hansen's Disease — these were the unfortunate souls who were exiled to Kalaupapa. This statue is located on the grounds of Saint Joseph's Church.
