![]() Coconut Helmet On the Mo`omomi Beach, there is quite a lot of driftwood and other debris. The Nature Conservancy organizes volunteers to clean up the non-natural debris once a month. This one item of natural debris caught my eye. It is a coconut with a few fibers of the outer husk still attached — but with a hole in the shell. This looks so much like the helmets worn by ancient Hawai`ian warriors — that I wonder if this is how they got the idea.
