![]() Hotel Lana`i Hotel Lana`i was built in 1923, by James Dole as lodging for Dole Plantation executives and was the first and only hotel on Lanai until 1990. I tend to compare it to cabins that one finds in our national parks — very comfortable but not luxurious. However the room rates are much easier on the wallet than the two luxury hotels on Lana`i. I especially am fond of the rooms located at the front because they provide a lanai (porch) where you can sit and read or just watch the world go by. One special treat is the fine restaurant at the Hotel Lana`i — one of the best on the island. A stay at the Hotel Lana`i offers a delightful experience in an historic landmark.
