`Iolani Bandstand

`Iolani Bandstand

This bandstand is on the grounds of `Iolani Palace. Originally, it was used for the coronation of King Kalakaua and was located directly in front of the palace entrance with a bridge connecting the two. It was later moved to its current location and was subsequently "restored" resulting in substantial changes from its original form. The Royal Hawai`ian Band performs from the bandstand most Fridays at noon (weather permitting).

`Iolani Palace is open to the public for tours. Do book your visit in advance because this is a very popular attraction.

The Friends of Iolani Palace organization supports, guides, and manages Palace activities, providing caring stewardship for this Hawaiian landmark and national treasure. It currently administers the Palace under a lease with the State of Hawaii. You can donate to help preserve this historic treasure by clicking here.

Note: Fifty percent of the purchase price of this photo will be donated to the Friends of Iolani Palace.
