Christmas Lights, Part 1 |
Every town has celebrations and sometimes it takes a newcomer a while to discover them. It was only last year, after living in Phoenix for more than 20 years, was I told about the Christmas lights at the Mormon Temple in Mesa. I went, I photographed, but did not share in LAHP because I was in the midst of publishing more than a dozen issues sharing photos of Maui. So I saved the Christmas photos for this year — assuming that the displays did not change super much each year.

Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright, Round yon Virgin Mother and Child! Holy Infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace! Sleep in heavenly peace! |
Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight! Glories stream from Heaven afar, Heavenly Hosts sing Alleluia! Christ, the Saviour, is born! Christ, the Saviour, is born! |
Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God, love’s pure light Radiant beams from Thy Holy Face With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth! Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth! |
Silent Night, Holy Night
Here at last, healing light From the heavenly kingdom sent, Abundant grace for our intent. Jesus, salvation for all. Jesus, salvation for all. |
Silent Night! Holy Night
Sleeps the world in peace tonight. God sends his Son to earth below A Child from whom all blessings flow. Jesus, embraces mankind. Jesus, embraces mankind. |
Silent Night, Holy Night
Mindful of mankind's plight The Lord in Heav'n on high decreed From earthly woes we would be freed Jesus, God's promise for peace. Jesus, God's promise for peace. |
