Preparing for Class

Sunday is the beginning of the week for my first of three photography workshops at the Santa Fe Workshops in Santa Fe (naturally), NM. The topic is "Mastering Your Flash". I have spent most of the week gathering the stuff I need to take and getting organized. The list of equipment that you must bring is extensive.

  • Camera
  • Film or memory cards
  • Lens(es)
  • Flash(es)
  • Wireless transmitter or cords to get Flash off the camera
  • PC connection on camera body
  • Manuals
  • Laptop (if shooting digital)
  • Optional: light stand
  • Optional: adaptor to mount flash on light stand
  • Optional: diffusers
  • Tripod

Fortunately, I have all these things except I couldn't find the diffuser. So I ran out to Photomark to buy a replacement. And the last request is a portfolio of your best images. Since Julia did not specify a number, I went with six — which was the number requested by the instructor for one of my other classes. I guess it will have to do. Even though most of you have seen these images already, I thought I would share them again — let's just call them "summer re-runs". Enjoy.

Life is good.

Aloha,
B. David
